The Frank S. Farley Service Plaza on the Atlantic City Expressway, a stop for barbecue? During our travels through NJ we made a pit stop at the plaza (mile post 21.3) intending on getting something to drink. But once we eyed the yellow truck with flames announcing bbq, we headed right over for our water, and a pulled pork sandwich and baked beans. Menu does include all the expected bbq delights and some surprises to! Service was quick, and social.
Packaged up to go, we grabbed a nearby picnic table and dove in! Pork was super tender, and the sauce was sweet and tangy. Addition of cole slaw, crispy onions and pickles provided nice contrasting flavors and some crunch. Roll held up well, shade on the harder side. Beans, for a $3.00 container a nice side that we enjoyed.
Your next trip down the AC Expressway treat yourself to some good bbq at the Road Hog Truck.
