Traveling to Atlantic City via the White Horse Pike we found ourselves getting hungry and looking for a place to stop. Passing on a diner opportunity we turned onto Philadelphia avenue figuring we would find a restaurant. Driving a short distance we found Al’s, a small luncheonette with about 4 tables and some counter seating. Al’s also has a small selection of convenience items for sale behind the counter. Seated ourselves, menu at the table, someone arrived shortly to take our order. Chicken cheese steak, grilled cheese and a side of fries.
Super fresh roll! We added friend onions and sweet peppers. Tender, flavorful chicken, very moist and balanced nicely with the cheese and our add-ons. Sided with pickles. Overall chicken cheese steak was a winner and one that we have found few competitors.
Side of fries were tasty and crisp, more than enough for 2 people to share.
Grilled Cheese on choice of bread, we chose wheat. Not much you can say other than perfect grilled cheese 🙂 Al’s Luncheonette a hometown place that if you are looking for a quaint stop on a drive to the shore definitely worth a look! With 2 diet Ice Teas bill came in at $19.00
