Serving the Voorhees community authentic Afghan food for 6 years is Ariana Restaurant. Comfortable seating and nicely decorated you feel welcomed from the minute you open the door. Stopped for lunch ordering off their lunch specials the Ariana Kabob and an appetizer of Aashak. Main course came with a salad and home-made bread.
Aashak> steamed scallions the main component, the dumplings are thin and the topping of spicy yogurt and meat sauce. The meat sauce had a bold flavor a shade on the sweet side. The sauce was simply extraordinary and none have I ever had better. A great starter and one I will get again.
Ariana Kabob> Lamb, ground beef and chicken that was marinated and cooked along with tomato, onion and pepper. Charred perfectly the meat was softly spiced and extremely tender. Served with spiced brown rice. Offering had 2 kabobs that our server nicely removed from skewer at table.
Side salad was fresh with a nice blend of carrot, lettuce and radish. Dressing was bold and similar to a ranch dressing. Bread was fresh and delicious.
Family run restaurant that has cornered the market on great food and fantastic service. Highly recommend a visit.
