Famous Dave’s Bar B Que, chain location that has been in the area for quite some time. This our first visit to the chain. Seated immediately, supplied with menus and drink order taken we looked over the extensive menu. Complimentary potato chips (thick) arrived with empty dipping vessels. Our super friendly and informed waitress explained and filled with all the different variety’s of barbecue sauces that were on the table. Some of the sauces had some BANG, others with TANG. Taking our order, we sipped our drinks and tried all the sauces.
Started with an appetizer, Southside Rib Tips. A pound of dry rub Memphis Style, sided with jalapeno pickled red onions, hell-fire pickles and Southside BBQ Sauce. Super tender and awesome Memphis flavor, we greased our fingers up and over pulling off the meat. Dipping into the Southside BBQ Sauce that offered some serious tang!
As we were finishing up the appetizer the entrees arrived. Dave’s Sassy Barbecue Salad and Cedar Plank Salmon. The salad we topped with our choice of Crispy Chicken. Salmon sided with Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese. Both came with a super fresh and warm Corn Muffin!
Sassy Salad> Gigantic bowl of fresh greens and veggies. Chicken was perfectly cooked, moist and crispy. Couldn’t make it to the bottom of the bowl of this very good salad. Cedar Plank Salmon> Another expertly cooked entree! Good sized piece of Salmon that was flaky and delicious. The “Glazed and caramelized” of the dish came off sweet and nutty, a shade too sweet for my taste. Sides of Mac & Cheese, (BANGIN!) and Collard Greens that we found amazingly not bitter, most definitely I’d order them again.
Closed with an incredible version of Bread Pudding (recommended by the waitress) sided with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Large dessert that you are able to share if so inclined. Service excellent throughout our dinner. Pricing with 3 draft beers under $65.00 before tip. Famous Dave’s if you haven’t visited, you should put it on your list of must stops.
