We decided to order in for dinner but wanted to pick up the food on the way home. The phone was answered by a staff member who was very quick and helpful, he even read back the order to make sure it was right. Our food would be ready in 15 minutes, sounded fantastic! We ordered a Veal Cutlet Parmigiana sandwich, an Eggplant Parmigiana sandwich, a Cheesesteak with half green peppers, an order of fries and 10 mild wings. The order totaled about $30. The price seemed a little high at first but normally if the food is good, I don’t mind paying the price.

Well, the food was not very good. The eggplant Parmigiana sandwich, which in my mind, is traditionally made by slicing eggplant, breading it, frying it and then topping it with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. What I received was a 12″ roll full of slimy, grilled strips of eggplant, full of seeds topped with the mozzarella cheese. The slimy eggplant wound up soaking into the roll which then fell apart. I didn’t even try the sandwich but just picked apart some of the bread with the cheese stuck to it, minus the marinara sauce. It looked as unappetizing as it sounds.

The cheese steak was definitely a step up from the eggplant. Again, this was made on a 12″ roll but the sandwich lacked meat. It did have a good amount of cheese on it but the little bit of meat was on the chewy side. The green peppers were in a container on the side.

The Veal Cutlet Parmigiana sandwich was the star of the meal. It was sliced thin, breaded and fried and topped with the traditional marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. The meat was tender with a great crispy breading.

I did enjoy the French fries. They were cooked to a nice golden brown with a great flavor. The wings were also nicely cooked. They were on the small side and cooked a little too long but the buffalo sauce and bleu cheese dressing were on the side just the way I like it.

Overall, I think if I had played it safe and maybe just ordered a pizza, I might have been happier with my meal. It may take me quite some time to give this establishment another chance.
