Chili’s in Deptford was our Sunday dinner visit. Long established location of this chain restaurant. Seated immediately and given plenty of time to look over the menu we chose a 2 for $35 menu offering. A choice of an appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert to share and for an extra charge 2 Margarita’s.

Appetizer, Nacho’s and Salsa came out just before the Margaritas. Thin nacho chips were warm and had little salt. The salsa, the juice of the salsa, no chunks of tomato or pepper with a few scattered pieces of onion. None the less we ate the Nacho’s which were good while we drank our Tumblers of Margarita’s (not quite looking like the picture) that were also very good.

After a bit of time passed our waitress stopped by to see if we needed anything and stated “the kitchen was a bit backed up and did we want more nachos” we declined and waited out 2 more visits promising our food would be out shortly. After about 35 minutes from the first visit from the waitress food arrived. Fajitas chicken and Cajun Chicken Pasta, ready to dive in but NO UTENSILS :/ Calling on a passing waitress we requested and in about 2 minutes they were delivered to the table.

Cajun Chicken Pasta> basically a pasta alfredo with sliced chicken and diced tomatos on top. Chicken had NO Cajun flavor at all or any other type of seasoning. Picked through the chicken and the pasta was decent, cooked to a firm texture. Nothing in the dish would inspire to get again or remotely recommend.

Chicken Fajitas, served on a hot cast iron pan, chicken, peppers and onions sided with all the traditional condiments, sour cream, guacamole, etc. Chicken was little flavored, onions gigantic in size, the peppers chunky. With only 3 wraps plenty left over for 2 more, but not good enough to eat anyway.

Closed with a shared Caramel Molten Cake, topped with salted caramel, caramel ice cream and caramel. Sounds sweet and it was! All the flavors were there and we did enjoy. Presentation a bit shaky with a gigantic blob of ice cream on top.

Overall we expected better and as should you, so I would go somewhere else. Service was a lot of waiting and apologizing. The waitress was very nice but seemed frazzled throughout, I imagine waiting for us to get angry. We didn’t as we both keep good company, lucky for them.
