Located inside The Grand Hotel, Hemingway’s offers a fine dining menu, and daily a “Sunset Menu”, as well as breakfast. I visited with a couple of friends, and we all chose off the Sunset Menu. 3 courses for $19.99. Soup or Salad, entree and desert of the day.
Beef Short Rib> Beautifully plated, our compliments to the chef! Beef was super tender, we ate the entire meal with no knife. Gravy rich and skillfully used as well. Soaking into the mashed potatoes the short rib rested on. Terrific plate which we’d go back again. We started with a Cream of Mushroom soup. Huge body soup, awesome flavor, best I’d ever had! Desert a small ,( about the size of a third of a muffin) pineapple shortcake. A nice closing that was sided with fresh whipped cream.
Service was a bit inattentive as the waitress stuck with the 3-course plan, making us ask for coffee. My guests enjoyed their meals of Butterflied Shrimp and Salmon, clearing off their plates being the tell-tale sign.
Nice, clean location. Service was no-frills and fast to the table. Would we have received better service if we ordered off the main menu? The food will certainly be the reason to make a return to find out. Hemingway’s at The Grand, let us know when you go!
