Visited IL Villaggio with reservations on a busy Friday night. BYOB fine dining, a great combination for those seeking a great dining experience while keeping the price down. Table ready as promised we were tucked away in a corner of a small dining room with 6 tables away from the main dining area. Wait-staff arrived and poured our wine as we listened to the features of the day not on the menu, off that we ordered two appetizers:
Oysters Casino and Oysters on the half. Both beautifully displayed , with the Oysters Casino winning our hearts. Super flavor and well-made, maybe better than any Clams Casino we have had. Our third appetizer a Crustini with thin Parmesan and fava beans, another great flavor marriage and a large starter as well, we shared and everyone enjoyed 🙂
Lobster Ravioli and Capellni Granchio our entrees and they were both wonderful. Lobster Ravioli, fantastic offering with rich flavor topped with an elegant blush sauce and fresh basil. Lump crab meat and plenty of it was in the Capellni Granchio. Lightly used tomato sauce highlighted the crab spiced with basil, garlic and juicy grape tomatoes.
With two guests who quietly ripped through their meals with a hearty “this was fantastic” we did not dig into their personal thoughts on their Pork dish and Gnocchi; that looked beautiful. Empty plates and smiles, a winning combo.
Closed with a fantastic cannoli that any Italian mother would be proud of. Pricing was great, 4 meals 3 appetizers and 2 desserts for a shade over $150. Service was on point and often, which may have been too often with the water glasses never going below half. Fine dining, IL Villaggio did not disappoint. Make a reservation, grab your favorite bottle of wine, and enjoy the good life!
