Where’s your favorite Italian dining destination in New Jersey? Recently I have been giving this much thought after an excellent meal at il Fiore in Collingswood.  Collingswood, is a great place to enjoy Italian, and in a BYOB setting, can also be economical. Another Collingswood destination for Italian is The Kitchen Consigliere Cafe. We visited back in 2014, long overdue for a return. Excellent food and very good service, the gnocchi was a home run!

IL Fiore

If Old School Italian is in your heart and on your mind the following three restaurants offer that charm, along with fantastic food. A recent trip to Atlantic City New Jersey we were recommended Angeloni’s II. This Atlantic City landmark delivered good food and a great atmosphere of when the city was booming.

Maplewood

Travel a bit up the White Horse Pike from Atlantic City you’ll have the opportunity at two more iconic Italian restaurants. Graziano’s in Chesilhurst is a blast from the past. Small intimate dining space, surrounded by stars of the past. Pictures of Sinatra, Dean Martin, Don Rickles, etc, etc, traditional Italian food and a great ambiance awaits. A short distance down the pike, and multiple Top Pick of ours, Hammonton’s Maplewood. Terrific Italian married with great service, its like being in Grandmas kitchen! Our recommendation, any homemade pasta dish!

Casa D’Amico

For more of a laid back setting a Top Pick from 2016, Casa D’Amico in Stratford.  We have dined here on many occasions, first discovering long before reviewing. Superior seafood dishes and if you do take out, can easily feed two. In the Essex county area, Vinnie’s Pizzeria and Restaurant is a winner.  laid back, comfortable setting and an awesome Italian Meatloaf.

Piattino’s Neighborhood Bistro, in Mendham. Visited back in 2016, and have not had a meatball this good since, “better than mom’s”. I can say no more other than they are worth the drive if you’re not from the area.

Piattino’s Mendham

Closing out our trip down Italian memory lane, The Italian Affair and Wine Bar in Glassboro.  Beautiful location, great service, on the upscale of dining experiences with an extensive menu of Italian favorites and daily specials.

Most of us have our favorite Italian Restaurant, but it’s certainly okay to stray occasionally. Enjoy!! And let us know when you go.
