Returned to Kid Rips stopping by for lunch. Seated ourselves waitress tended to us within a few minutes. Drinks returned and we ordered, the Eggplant Stack and Turkey Melt.

Eggplant Stack> And what a stack! Super crisp eggplant breading included some panko. Thin cut with skin left on, great flavor on its own, and zero grease. Topped with tomato, mozzarella and arugula, with drizzled balsamic vinaigrette. Devouring the dish the flavors were a great representation of summer as it was a refreshing dish.

Turkey Melt> Nice interpretation of one of our personal favorites. Fresh turkey breast nicely balanced with roasted pepper, bacon and provolone. Housed in an excellent ciabatta bread. Ranch dressing we enjoyed and we would love to see a bit on the side for possible dipping. Choice of fries or house salad, we went with the salad which was very good.

A top pick for 2015, Kid Rips is not missing a beat in 2016, excellent food, very good service and pricing.

First Visit:

Kid Rips, a comfortable and modern bar/pub located on the Black Horse Pike. Some table seating available around the bar, we chose a table. Immediately waitress stopped by the table and left menu and took our drink order. On her return we ordered our meals. Started with a dry drub wing. Our entrees, Mushroom Swiss Burger and a grilled Portabella Burger.

Wings> deep dried and crisp, meat cooked perfectly. Dry rub very uninspiring with the overwhelming flavor of salt. Next time I would go with a sauce.

Mushroom Cheese Burger, cooked medium well. Beef was moist and had excellent seasoning. Perfect balance of cheese and mushrooms, roll superior. A Port Wine reduction?!! This took the burger from very good to being  a GREAT BURGER.

Portabella Mushroom Burger> Same fantastic roll, balsamic reduction. Tomato, arugula and onion with a lemon vinaigrette and basil aioli. Complex flavors that came together and made this a must try for all those who love culinary excellence.

Both burgers came with choice of hand-cut fries or homemade potato chips. We tried both, preferred the fries but the chips are also good.

Good pricing, comfortable atmosphere, great service and excellent food. Kid Rips Tap & Tavern, check them out and let us know when you go!
