We have visited Kitchen 519 in Glendora, NJ a few times now and our excitement was high on returning as we have enjoyed each time. Seated and waited on immediately we listened to the specials then scanned over the menu.
Deciding on 2 small plates to start, Mussels and Vegan Buffalo Chicken Wings. Both a bit larger than a small plate, hearty “small plates” that easily could be full a meal. Vegan Buffalo Chicken wings, as in the name a meatless dish. Well presented, sided with our choice of bleu cheese. Crisp breading, and tossed in a mild but spicy buffalo sauce. Delicious flavor that you would have a difficult time saying it was tofu. Would we get again? Heck yeah!
Mussels, super fresh in a mild broth with small pieces of chorizo. Mussels, all opened, were tender with a superior flavor. Next time I will get an extra loaf of bread and make it my meal as the broth was wonderful.
Pork Chop, a special of the day stuffed with goat cheese. Another nicely presented dish that began with a pumpkin puree’ and built up from there with sauerkraut blended with apple, stuffed pork chop on top. Nice blend of goat cheese, spicing and chopped nuts. Beautifully seared chop, perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. I worked to make sure I got each ingredient as it was a marriage made in heaven.
Quinoa and black bean enchiladas, fantastic interpretation of this Mexican classic. Well-balanced, and delicious a nice departure from the traditional. Sided with rice and beans and homemade nachos that were both delicious.
Very good service, nice surroundings, pricing about $75 for all the above and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Kitchen 519 is a BYOB and offer a variety of wine choices. If you are in search of A GREAT dining experience, Kitchen 519 serves it up.
