Looking for a new lunch spot, I pulled in to Lee’s Hoagie House in Crispin Square in Marlton. The place is small and the walls are pretty bare but there were quite a few people standing in line for their orders. The organization was a little confusing since there are two counters and everyone behind the counters seemed very busy. I was greeted fairly quickly and was told I would be next. My order was taken, a Chicken Salad Hoagie, and I was asked if I wanted anything extra with it, then to wait for my name to be called. The wait was shorter than expected, considering the line already ahead of me, and I was rung up for my sandwich and a small bag of chips, cost $7.10. Seemed a little high in price but hopefully it was worth it.
Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the sandwich as much as I expected. It was a 6 inch hoagie that was filled with a good amount of chicken salad, lettuce, tomato and onion. There were several pieces of brown lettuce and way too many onions. The chicken salad lacked flavor even though there was celery mixed into it. The problem may have been that the mayonnaise was watered down and the roll was chewy.
With the amount of people in line and how busy the establishment seemed, I can’t imagine that my sandwich would be the norm. Maybe I will give it another shot, they were very friendly and quick.
