GFNJ was in Collingswood again this time to check out L’Oceano Ristorante. Large menu also with daily additions, we opted for their four course offering for $35.00 with four choices for each course.
Our first course we had the Pumpkin Bisque and Steamed Clams casino style. Terrific presentation both a great start. The Clams a fantastic interpretation with kalamata olives and green olives large pieces of bacon in a rich sauce. Pumpkin Bisque huge flavor mix of pumpkin and spices made us long for thanksgiving dinner.
Second course Mac and Cheese with lobster, creamy mild cheeses, perfectly cooked pasta. Gnocchi, chefs weekly creation that was potato and red beet. Out of bounds in flavor and texture. Very interested in what other combinations the Chef has up his sleeve.
Third, course Maple Salmon encrusted with almonds over a cedar plank. Superior Salmon, perfectly cooked with the almonds adding a nice balance to the maple syrup. The other dish in this course Pollo Alla Mattone, flavorful 5 spice chicken cooked under a brick searing in the juices.
Fourth course dessert! Bread pudding dense and hearty, with a nice sweetness. Tiramisu, another gem! Perfect ends to a spectacular meal.
GREAT! covers our experience here, friendly service and spectacular pricing on two four course dinners that left us happy and stuffed.
