Recently opened, Michi Steakstone takes over for a former all-you-can eat Sushi restaurant, one of many Asian restaurants to try the location. Seated immediately on arrival, we looked over the extensive menu. Finally deciding on Surf & Turf Hibachi style, Hunan Beef, California Roll as an appetizer. Hibachi dinner came with Tofu Mixed Vegetable Soup and salad with house dressing. Hunan Beef came with an egg roll. Also we had a Pepper Tuna seared with black pepper and served with ponzu sauce.
Surf & Turf> meal was beautifully displayed and came with mixed vegetables, rice and noodles. Beef seared perfectly, tender and juicy. Cut in small pieces along with the lobster, which was also expertly prepared, a fantastic meal! Veggies were awesome, rice and noodles an appreciated side. They added a couple of shrimp as well and they were great. For the money, $30.00 a great interpretation of a classic meal.
Hunan Beef> Nice warmth to the dish but not too spicy allowing the beef flavor to shine through. Veggies of peppers, onions and broccoli all fresh and crisp. Delicious meal.
California Roll> Sushi is generally not my thing and I usually defer to other staff to sample. But this was a time to step out on my own, which is why I chose this roll. Nice display and appearance, 6 pieces. Tried a bit of the wasbi which was sided as well. Overall taste was large, I enjoyed the contrasting flavors of fresh, crab and avocado. This roll may have turned my thoughts on sushi as I really enjoyed.
Pepper Tuna, terrific, the optimal word here. Topped with ponzu sauce, which provided a nice spice complimenting the tuna perfectly.
Closed out with a Beet Ice Cream, yes beet. Very tasty ending that I would recommend if you want to step away from the normal boring vanilla.
Comfortable location with booth and table seating. Service was friendly, and efficient throughout. Pricing with a coupon was just under $50.00. Michi Asian Steakstone, a new restaurant going through some of the normal growing pains. The food, FANTASTIC, we recommend a visit. Best of luck to Michi and their staff, we look forward to a return. A BYOB, so bring the wine 🙂
