Warm and comfortable is what greets you on entry to the Mockingbird Cafe. Seated at a table by the window, server immediately arrived to take drink orders. Large lunch menu, and short specials menu.
Decided on the The Bar Harbor. Lobster BLT, lobster salad, tomatoes (grape) baby lettuce, bacon, basil mayo on brioche toast. Sided with fries, slaw and a pickle. Pleasing presentation. Sandwich, lacked balance with each half having only one split grape tomato. Lobster was fresh with lightly used basil mayo that I didn’t get the basil. Toast came of dry and crumbled, I finished with a fork moving the toast off to the side. Overall a great idea that came off remarkably tasteless as the lobster salad missed the basil/mayo as well. Fries were crisp and fresh, we thoroughly enjoyed them.
The others I was with had Turkey Burgers, and a Lamb Burger. All seemed to enjoy and they emptied their plates. They also commenting on how much they enjoyed. I avoided controversy by not remarking. Nice location that I will trust in the others who enjoyed giving them a 3 star rating. If it was left up to just my meal a 2 would be in order.
Pricing with an Iced Tea my meal came in around $18.00. Service was efficient and friendly throughout.
