Good Food New Jersey found a gem of a restaurant while visiting Jim Thorpe PA. This contemporary restaurant has a fantastic look, that is comfortable and warm. We made reservations and we would highly recommend you do too. Sitting at the bar, (only one available) we found was a comfortable experience. Wait staff super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
We started with salads, Apple salad and Corn Feta Salad. Apple Salad, large portion with excellent presentation. Thinly sliced apples, arugula and endive. Almonds were added that had a fantastic flavor of cinnamon (?). Simply a fantastic offering.
Corn Feta Salad> A mixture of romaine lettuce, slices of corn off of the cob, feta, diced tomatoes and chick peas in a red wine vinaigrette. The flavors worked so well together, it was a wonderful beginning to the meal.
Our first entree was the Orecchiette. The pasta was freshly made and mixed with wild mushrooms and goat cheese. A very large serving of pasta that was also a fantastic dish. It was creamy and full of strong flavor from the wild mushrooms. An absolute must try for any patron.
The second entree of the night, Crab Cakes. Served with red mashed potato’s and fresh sauteed green beans. Crab Cakes were expertly spiced, unnoticeable filler made the crab experience that much nicer! Potatoes and green beans both smartly cooked and rounded out the meal perfectly.
If you stop by Jim Thorpe, Moya is the restaurant to visit. High end spectacular food. Friendly service and pricing more than acceptable for fantastic food.
