GFNJ’s second visit to the Atco Diner. Sign on marquee, celebrating 50 years. We ordered the Open-faced Reuben which came with fries. Well made sandwich that was also huge. Stacked with corned beef. Sandwich was well-balanced with kraut and melted Swiss cheese. Service was friendly.
Southern New Jersey diner, with quaint feel. Seated myself and ordered the soup of the day Creamy Mushroom and the Philly Cheese Steak Deluxe. Soup homemade for sure with large firm slices of mushrooms and terrific body. Philly Cheese Steak nice size offering that came with fries. Cooked perfectly, excellent flavor on a fresh roll.
Downsides, the crackers that came with soup a bit stale and the lemon in Iced Tea still had the sticker on it. Service was tepid, a good stop for a quick lunch.
