Just outside of Linwood on New Road is the Northfield Diner & Family Restaurant. Everything you’d expect to find in a Jersey diner, from the layout to the menu. We stopped by for breakfast ordering Eggs Benedict. Within a minute the waitress returned to let us know that “it would be a bit of wait (if I was in a hurry) do to a large party in the back.” I appreciated the courtesy but am a bit miffed at how the Eggs Benedict would be an issue. So I changed my order and it showed at the table in under 10 minutes.
Ordered the Italian Omelet, Italian sausage, roasted peppers and mozzarella cheese. Came with a side of fried potatoes and choice of toast. To best describe the omelet I would use the word boring. The roasted peppers were soft and flavorless, Italian Sausage also didn’t add much as the quality of was low. Side of potatoes had no flavor or spicing, had a few bites and rooted for one that may be crisp, only to find none.
Service the upside, very friendly with many offers for refills on the coffee. If you are to go, avoid the breakfast potatoes and Italian Omelet.
