GFNJ returned for another visit, now featuring “Tom’s American Grill”. We ran the table with our choices, crab cake platter, mac 7 cheese poppers, crab stuffed mushroom, chip/bbq wings. Our favorite of all we had,,,,lets say the only issue was the mushroom was a bit over cooked on the stuffed mushroom and too thin. Wings were fantastic, mac&cheese awesome interpretation. Crab Cake a winner but only one for a platter? Rather have paid a bit more for two.

Overall another winning experience of very good food!

Voted “Best Neighborhood Bar/Pizza and Wings”, good-sized menu which is well priced. It is a bar folks! Has a small seating area away from the bar separated by a half wall where you can watch the cook. Good service on the slow side but the food makes up for it. Crab Cake Platter and Italian Hoagie, the crab cake was very good with little filler, browned a bit too long. Hoagie was very good with fresh ingredients, parmesan cheese on top and a bag of UTZ chips. The roll on the chewy side stole the great rating away. Curly fries and cole slaw a nice complement. Under 30 bucks with plenty to take home, it is cramped and noisy but overall a very pleasant experience.

Crab Cake

Great Crab Cakes! Very little filler and great flavor, highly recommend!!

Super food 🙂 The Ruben is one of the best I have had. Good sized sandwich with the kraut not tasting like it was out of a can. Good prices on the drinks too

Old Rail Tavern

I pass the Old Rail Tavern a few times a week so I decided to give them a try. The inside is mainly a bar but there is seating at the kitchen with a wall blocking the bar. It is quite noisy but not bothersome. We tried the white pizza with spinach added. To my surprise, the pizza had NO flavor. I expect a white pizza to be full of garlic and seasoning but found none. The dough was thin and crisp but the pizza overall was disappointing. I would give them another try on another trip.
