On a recommendation from a Facebook follower we headed out to Monmouth County to check out Romeo’s Pizza. Romeo’s is located in the Andee Plaza along Route 33. Small location with table seating along the perimeter of the restaurant (about 8 tables). Ordered at the counter and food brought to the table. Gigantic menu of sandwiches, pizza, pannini’s, dinners, seafood, and specialty salads, etc. It was suggested we try some of their sandwiches and specialty salads. In taking that to heart, we ordered a Washington Salad, Chicken Parmigiana Sub, and a Pannini named “The Maddelena”. Order came to table in around ten minutes with the Sub coming first and the salad last, spread out by 5 minutes.
Washington salad> Large bowl that we shared. Art, was my first thought when it arrived. Vibrant colors of the Spring mix, apples, craisins, feta, and walnuts. Sided with raspberry vinaigrette that we generously poured over. Super fresh, a fantastic salad! Chicken Parmigiana Sub, went with the small and chose fried. Gravy was rich and generously used. Chicken cooked perfectly, breading mild in flavor. Very good sub that we could easily imagine without the bread having for dinner over pasta. The Maddelena, a pannini with mozzarella, tomato, basil with olive oil. Pannini overall had good flavor. Tomato was sliced would have liked diced. Fresh mozzarella was the star as it was delicious with the basil and oil. Lightly toasted. Enjoyed and finished, definitely would get again.
Romeo’s in Manalapan Township, very good food and a complete menu that everyone in the family can be satisfied. Delivery, catering also available.Check them out for dinner or your next party and let us know when you go!
