Visited Sal’s Pizza for dinner 2 Panini’s small order of Wing Dings (breaded wings) and medium pizza 1/2 pepperoni/plain. Sal’s Panini, grilled chicken, prosciutto, mozzarella, lettuce tomato, pesto with a balsamic glaze. A lot of ingredients that you may interpret to being some bold flavor, but NO. Lettuce being heated in a Panini? Lettuce was gross, tomato wasn’t ripe, chicken was cut too large, prosciutto was sparingly used to the point you didn’t taste, pesto was a plenty but just over-powered. A horrible name sake menu item. Turkey Ranch Panini> loads of sliced turkey that was moist and tender. Balanced nicely with the American Cheese, bacon and ranch dressing. Tomato and lettuce added, offered nothing in the flavor profile and again the tomato was awful.
Pizza> Crust was medium in thickness had decent flavor. Sauce okay. Cheese and pepperoni they weren’t shy using. Overall the pizza was serviceable nothing to make us run back to get again. Wing Dings> breaded wings they gave us choice of sauce on side or top we chose poured on. Wings were the highlight of the night, crisp and cooked perfectly. Sauce above average medium heat that we enjoyed.
Large menu of everything you’d expect at a sandwich pizza shop. Be prepared if doing take-out or delivery that no thought is put in to presentation as fries were dumped on top of both Panini’s. And the fries were on the greasy side to boot. Pricing in line for like establishments. Overall a disappointment, especially if you consider they boast 25 years experience.
