GFNJ stopped by for lunch to check out Sam’s Café & Grill which is in a small strip of stores. Very warm and inviting décor, with booth and table seating. Naomi was our server who quickly seated, leaving menu and returning in less than a minute with our drink order. Large menu that included Panini’s, wraps, steak sandwiches and full dinners.
Staring out with a the soup(s) of the day, we chose the Tomato Vegetable with Beef. Rich flavor is what it delivered. Perfectly balanced with no one ingredient overwhelming the other. The beef was small pieces of ground beef, maybe not your first choice of beef but it worked perfectly. The beef was moist and was enhanced by the rich tomato beef broth. A GREAT SOUP!
Philly Cheese Steak, with fried mushrooms and onions, came with fries, slaw and a pickle. Cheese Steak did Philly right, very flavorful meat on a super soft roll, thoroughly enjoyed. Side of fries were crisp and tasty. Cole-Slaw, the only negative of our visit. No real flavor to it at all, needs some spices and vinegar.
Service was superior! Our waitress Naomi checked on us often, offering us options of condiments to bring on side and topping off of our drink. Total bill came in at under $11.00! Very economical for such fantastic service and good food.
