Siri’s on Route 70 is a BYOB restaurant serving lunch and dinner. A pleasant atmosphere with open seating, we managed to get a nice spot in the corner, with reservations. Starting with an appetizer of Spinach Pork Dumplings with red pepper sauce, the steamed dumplings were firm having a mild spinach flavor which complimented the perfectly cooked pork. The red pepper sauce had a nice bite to it was a nice addition making them the “best dumplings” I have ever had.
Rack of lamb with Madeira Rosemary Au Jus> ordered medium well it took nearly a half hour for the dinner to arrive with the waiter coming back to let me know “they were making working to assure it came as I ordered” (twice to let me know). The lamb was cut in individual pieces with them all not cooked to the same degree of requested. Madeira Rosemary Sauce used as a bed for the lamb was uninspiring with little taste. Meal came with steamed broccoli/carrots and a potato au gratin.
Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes> described as encrusted in macadamia nuts with a creamy lime sauce. The cakes did have chunks of crabmeat but to my disappointment also had a lot of filler. The flavor was a little overwhelming with the lime sauce and cilantro which made it difficult to taste crab or macadamia. The sauce may have been better served on the side. This dish also came with steamed broccoli/ carrots but a serving of bland white rice was in place of the potato au gratin. The cakes were tasty since I did finish both that were offered but it could have been better.
For dessert we had Carrot Cake, Creme Brule’ and coffee both very good, closing out an overall good dining experience. The service was great from a very efficient waiter, would definitely try again as the shortcomings did not take away from a good time.
