Our second visit to Slice Pizzeria, ordered delivery, promised in 40 minutes and delivered as promised. Ordering a Mushroom Swiss Burger, Chicken Parmesan dinner we chose Angel Hair pasta, and the Veal Parmesan dinner, chose Penne both dinners coming with bread and salad.
Both dinners very large for the price and meat coming separate from pasta. Tomato Gravy offered gigantic flavor and screamed just like mom made! Veal very thin, nice breading maybe a bit too much gravy poured over. Chicken Parm, same as the veal, very good flavored breading, well made just too much gravy as it took all cheese flavor away. Pasta’s both perfectly made and more of the great gravy!
Mushroom Swiss Burger> Ordered medium delivered more like well, as some portions of the burger bit too dry to eat. Sided with fries that were fries, nothing to say we love them or dislike them.
Pricing for the dinners both under $15.00 a great price for such a large serving. Solid overall experience and we’d definitely go back despite some minor issues.
New on the restaurant scene is Slice Pizzeria, located on Clements Bridge Road Barrington. Gigantic menu of salads, sandwiches, hoagies, wraps, Italian dinners and many choices of pizza. Ordered and picked up was promised in 45 minutes and they nailed it. Staff member who took order was very polite, clear and read back what we ordered.
Pizza> Ordered a 12″ also comes in 16, topped with half meatballs and half black olives. Crust was excellent on the medium side of thickness and crisp. Sauce was rich and balanced perfectly with the cheese and added toppings. Meatballs (sliced) yelled out homemade! Pizza a perfect 5! We can’t wait for more.
From the “Healthy Slice” section of the menu Frutti di Mare, sautéed shrimp, calamari & clams in a marinara sauce. Rigatoni style pasta gently tossed in the flavorful sauce. Pasta was Al dente which considering we brought home needs to be commended ( the dinner was still hot). There was also mussels in the dinner which weren’t listed on the menu, we were okay with this as we do like them. Shrimp very small seemingly from a can (?) were rubbery and ones that should not be part of what was a very good pasta dinner. Side of bread and a homemade fresh salad included made this large meal a steal at $13.95.
Buffalo Wings we had six of the Hot and Honey. Packaging to take home needs some sort of seal style. Wings deep-fried with no breading. Cooked through were moist inside and had crispy skin! Hot flavor is what we got with no hint of honey. This fine with us in the flavor end but not what we expected. Overall we liked them and would try other flavors.
Chicken & Broccoli Quesadilla, packed with seasoned chicken, a few different types of cheese and plenty of broccoli. The quesadilla had good flavor but it would have been a little easier to eat if the fillings were chopped up smaller.
Slice Pizzeria is new, opening just in the past week. When we arrived it was a bit chaotic in the process of receiving our order but again they did get it to us in the promised time. We ordered the guacamole and received salsa. Minor details that as they gain some experience you’d expect would go away. Restaurant has some tables to eat in but primarily a take-out delivery restaurant.
Overall we found Slice Pizzeria very good and we look forward to returning and sampling more of their extensive menu.
