2/19/16> SECOND VISIT
Our second visit we found the same warm surroundings and excellent food. Our highlight, Taco salad with Shrimp. Large shrimp that were grilled and well seasoned, Salad in an editable bowl. Yellow rice, perfectly grilled pepper and onions. Topped with lettuce and tomato and Shrimp. Sour cream on side poured over easily and completed a perfect dish.
Service was slow, as they had two staff members working both the restaurant floor and bar. Pricing very reasonable. Still though one of our favorites!
We stopped at Tejas Grill (the former Acapulco Grill) in Lindenwold for dinner. Location is warm and comfortable. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, answering our questions to a few of the menu items.
Ordered 3 entrees, Beef Taco’s, Chicken Huarache, and a Beef/Chicken/Shrimp Molcajetes. The Molcajete’s presentation worth noting, served in a heated stone bowl (pig shaped) was beautiful, but a bit tough to eat from. Rice on the bottom was tasty, topped with grilled chicken that was flavorful and moist. Beef, a T-Bone was thin nicely seasoned as well, a bit overdone for my taste (cooked well-done). Shrimp 3 were large and perfectly cooked with excellent seasoning. Onions and Grilled Cactus were nice contrasts in flavor. This is a huge meal that we could not finish.
Chicken Huarache> A very large portion, this entree was so good that we took the leftovers home for lunch tomorrow. It is a pan fried Mexican masa that is layered with your choice of meat, we chose the spicy chicken. Also topped with beans, lettuce, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, cheese and sour cream. All of the flavors worked so well, it was difficult to stop eating.
Beef Taco’s> we chose the ground beef and hard shell. Good flavoring nicely presented and you can pick how you like them made. Omitting tomato’s as we did.
Closed out with Churro’s (4) large and freshly made. The best we have ever tasted. Scoop of chocolate ice cream made it perfect!
Very friendly service. Reasonable pricing, about $54 that included one Margarita. Authentic Mexican, you’d struggle to find any better, unless you go to their Stratford location.
