The Legacy Diner in Audubon is a newly renovated, family owned restaurant and bakery. For a Tuesday night, the restaurant was surprisingly packed but our wait time was only about 15 minutes. The staff was very friendly and always smiling even though there was a short wait for service. Considering the amount of people being served, the wait was not intolerable.
Breakfast for dinner is always a favorite at any diner, so tonight would not be any different. The chocolate-chip pancakes were fantastic, yes fantastic! Enough chips for a kid to enjoy but not too many for an adult. The pancakes were very light and fluffy which made it difficult for me not to eat off of my kid’s plate. I enjoyed an Italian Omelet which consisted of three eggs, italian sausage, roasted peppers and mozzarella cheese. It seemed like a good combination for an omelet and was well worth the try. The meal also came with home fried potatoes and toast. My only request would be a bigger serving of potatoes since they were also very good. Our other choice was a Buffalo Chicken Wrap which could have been a little less messy. The sauce soaked through the wrap and wound up everywhere. Also, it was difficult to find any ranch or bleu cheese dressing in the sandwich. This meal came with fries that were actually very crisp and hot. Overall, I would definitely visit again and try something new from their extensive menu. The price for three meals totalled about $35 but it was worth the time and money.
