Located inside the Borgata Hotel Casino The Metropolitan restaurant is a comfortable location where you will find traditional American cuisine. Service was friendly and efficient, pricing modest for the upscale Hotel/Casino.
Started off with two appetizers, Wings and, Manhattan Clam Chowder. Chowder was expertly made, with good amount of fresh clams that were tender and the spicing gave them just the right bite. Wings, nice presentation in the mini-fry basket were meaty and cooked nice and crisp. At recommendation of waiter, we had the sauce served on the side. Very “warm” quality to the sauce that we were able to control thanks to the suggestion, pleasing us both. Overall VERY good wings.
Our two entrees, Mushroom Swiss Burger and Pittsburgh Burger. Ordered both Medium-Well and cooked as promised. Mushroom Swiss served on a pub roll with fresh mushrooms was well balanced in flavors making it a 5- star burger.
Pittsburgh Burger, served on Texas Toast and additions of Thousand Island dressing, Cole Slaw, topped with French Fries. Slaw was dry, so the Thousand Island Dressing is an important component. After eating half, I finally began to dissect the other half and found NO traces of Thousand Island. I would assume this was a mistake in the kitchen (?) Still was a decent burger but could have been so much more.
Pricing with two Iced Teas, came in at $53 that we believe is modest inside this top of the line casino. The missing thousand island was too big to overlook costing them a star.
