Up for something new, then the Red Hen should be on your list. Modern, eclectic surroundings we stopped on a Sunday for lunch. Seated immediately, we waited a few minutes for the waitress to arrive, who then brought us back some water and took our order. Started off with the Mussel Chowder that was rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. Thoroughly enjoyed the 3 large mussels in the chowder, a five-star chowder.
Ordered the Cabot Burger, perfectly cooked to our request of medium-well. Caramelized onions were flavorful and added a nice contrast to the juicy burger. Our second adventure, the Smoked Chicken Panini. Moist chicken with excellent flavor and another perfectly balanced offering. Both came with your choice of fries or hash brown, we had both. Fries thin-cut were super crispy the way we love them. Hash brown fresh and tasty, perfectly cooked! Also on the plate coleslaw that had unique flavoring of pickling spices that we enjoyed as a nice departure from the everyday.
Nice surroundings and very friendly service. Pricing was modest for excellent food. Bill with drinks came in at $30.00. The Red Hen is well worth a visit!
