The Wick, as townsfolk would refer to this established tavern. Our first visit to “The Wick” since my youth. Much brighter and welcoming than years back. Sat at the bar, looked over the asked for the menu. Front cover “The Best Wings in South Jersey” a statement that took me directly to the wing section of the menu. Medium Wings was my decision and I sided with cheese fries. Fries arrived first with the wings following about 10 minutes later.
Plated on a throw away foam plate, celery and bleu cheese. Crisp and plump, beautiful looking wings resting on a pool of sauce. Had to roll wings around in the sauce as none seemed to have been directly poured over. Juicy wings that were perfectly cooked through. Sauce, a greasy and tasteless wet. After rolling around the wing to mix up the separated sauce just destroyed the decent flavor of the wing. Cheese fries were serviceable.
Pricing in range for like locations. Service friendly and efficient. I would have to assume that The Wick management proclaimed themselves “The Best Wings in South Jersey” as I cannot imagine many liking what I was served.
