Tokyo Hibachi and Sushi Buffet is a large establishment offering Hibachi along with all-you-can-eat sushi and hot Asian inspired dishes. Visiting for dinner we went with the Hibachi experience. Deciding on our main courses the waitress came back with drinks, soup and salad. Soup beef style broth with a slice of mushroom and some scallions. Nothing special with the broth and probably would skip the next time we come. Salad, iceberg lettuce with some cucumbers. Highlight was the dressing which was a puree of carrot and ginger with other added sweetness. Excellent and took the boring iceberg to heights not generally associated with.
Our chef arrived as we were completing our starters and the show began! Enjoyable routine that was interactive, especially with the younger people sitting at the grill. Standard with all Hibachi meals the chef started out with fried rice, noodles and vegetables (broccoli, mushrooms and onions) Expertly prepared all had super flavor. Fried Rice was very good with little grease. The balancing/juggling act with the spatula and egg deserves high marks!
Our main dishes, Hibachi Chicken, Hibachi Beef (Filet mignon) and Hibachi Salmon. Salmon was large fillet, no skin. Mild glazing that brought out the flavor of the fish. Beef, served medium as requested, very tender with a great marinade. Chicken another winner in the marinade department. Tender white meat that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Super experience that we highly recommend. Pricing just under $75 for three included 3 soft drinks. Portions were all very large and with entertainment included well worth the price. Located just across the street from the Deptford Mall.
