In the Haddonfield area, we decided to take out from Tony’s Pizzeria located on Haddon Ave. It seemed to be a very busy Saturday night with the phone orders but our order was taken quickly upon entry. We waited about 15 minutes for our order, a cheeseburger, roast beef sub, cheesesteak with fried onions and an order of mozzarella sticks.
The roast beef sub, we chose the 6″ roll with lettuce, onion and mayo. All was delivered on a fresh roll and turned out to be a great tasting hoagie. The cheeseburger was a frozen patty, nothing fresh or tasty about it. It turned out hard and dry on a roll that was much larger than the meat. This order came with a side of fries that were just average, some being a little too brown and overcooked. The mozzarella sticks also came out of a freezer, prepackaged, with a side of marinara sauce. They were also average. The winner of the evening, though, was the cheesesteak. It was packed with lots of seasoned meat, cheese and fried onions on a 12″ fresh roll. A wonderful tasty sandwich that would make me come back again.
The rest of the menu had the typical pizzeria offerings but also included Italian entrees and focaccia sandwiches. We would like to give them another try based on the great tasting cheesesteak. I would hope that their other menu items would have more of a homemade taste to them.
