Modern, Chic décor, excellent service and superior food. This was our experience at Xunta when stopped for lunch. We sampled off their dinner menu ordering 4 tapas. Starting with the first to be delivered, Datiles con Toucino, dates stuffed with blue cheese wrapped in bacon with a balsamic glaze for dipping. Perfectly balanced flavors, well made and certainly a top choice if you are a bacon lover that’s willing to explore.
Tortilla espanola, a Spanish potato omelet with green and red bell pepper that came with a side of mixed greens. A hearty offering with a good mix of flavors and large considering it was just a tapa. Croquetas, Serrano Ham, Tetilla cheese, crisp on the outside and rich and creamy on the inside. Delicious dipped in the garlic mayonesa sauce which pulled all the flavors together perfectly.
Empanada Galega de polo, chicken empanada with piquillo peppers, Spanish onion and sweet paprika. The puff pastry light and cooked perfectly with a good crispness on the top, a terrific blend of flavors, that was thoughtfully made.
A terrific experience as the service was perfect the food better than perfect and the pricing was extraordinary! Our total bill came in under $40.00. Xunta is a must stop and worth taking a road trip to explore as we did.
