Where to go to eat while visiting Bordentown, NJ. this was not an easy decision. Farnsworth Avenue has restaurants galore! From Pubs to Italian and everything in between. Oliver A Bistro was our decision after a stroll up and down the ave, twice!

Dine inside, or at a bistro table on the sidewalk at a table or comfortable booth. We chose indoors, taking a window seat. Large menu and a daily lunch menu of land and sea offerings. Our final decision was a Crab Mac & Cheese as a starter and the Oliver Seafood Roll our main dish. Starter came in about 15 minutes, followed by the main dish a bit after completion of the appetizer.

Crab Mac & Cheese- Coming with a spoon our expectation of creamy goodness increased on sight! Diving in we found perfectly cooked macaroni, a mild and YES creamy cheese blend. Crab, medium sized pieces of lump crab meat. Would we have liked more crab? Heck ya we love it but with any more it would need a name change to Crab with macaroni. Devouring the dish, we thought maybe I should have gotten the large size. This would be one for the crab and Mac & Cheese lover to try, or try one of their three offerings.

Oliver Seafood Roll- Shrimp, Day Boat Scallops and Hearts of Palm, finished off with a Citrus Mayo, Romaine, with Kings Hawaiian Sweet Roll. Large plate that was well thought out. Lettuce shredded and bedded on top of the rolls that were hollowed out in the middle but left intact. Shrimp and Scallops were firm and fresh, blended well with the other ingredients. Hearts of Palm a great idea for the plate, offered a nice contrasting flavor. The rolls, were dry and I really didn't eat much of and believe another type or none at all would do the plate better. Despite, I would definitely get again as it was light, and flavor filled. Sided fresh cut fries were very tasty.

Excellent service, very good food and good price points, Oliver a Bistro a great reason to visit Bordentown New Jersey.
