The British Chip Shop

Categories: Seafood, Sandwich, Recent

Prior to the quarantine we stopped by the British Chip Shop visiting for dinner. Under new owners, the décor has made no changes. Seated immediately we were left to look over menu.

Service friendly but a bit slow as they seemed understaffed for a Friday evening. Our starter was a Scotch Egg. Offered cold or heated we went with heated. Delicious interpretation with the sausage being the standout. Naturally an egg and also Branson pickle.(similar to a chutney) Enough to share a very good appetizer that we recommend.

Fish & Chips most certainly a good idea when the name of the restaurant suggests! Large or small we went with the small and it was plenty. Large pieces, battered and super crisp. Cod was flaky and perfectly cooked. Chips on the mark and satisfying. Our other entrée was the Chip Shop Sandwich. Roasted chicken, Granny Smith Apples, Irish Cheddar, grain mustard and greens. Well balanced sandwich that we enjoyed. Cold sandwich that we think pressed and warmed would be awesome.

The British Chip Shop, check them out and let us know when you go.
